Creating directories and changing directories

Sir,

Doing exercise of section 3 .The exercise is on to use of ls and cs command ,problem is that i don't know how to create directories and in default lab doesnot contain any directories or any files.So please tell me the command to create directories and files. I am starter in this course of unix.

Thanks. I will fix it in the next release of this module. Please do a cd .. or cd / to change directory to one-level up or to the root of the tree respectively and try out your commands there. You can issue a cd <enter> to cd to your home directory. Do note that you will not be able to create files/directories in these folders.
