    ls -D

    Hi,

ls -D , generates output desired for Emacs' dired mode.

What is Emacs? What is its dired mode?

    Thank You

    Anon10020,

I have never used that option and you would not need to too . This is for Emacs code to generate directory listing, so, that you can browse your directory from within Emacs much like Windows explorer.
